Highlands’ Garden Village is a 27 acre mixed-use
project in northwest Denver on the site of the historic former
Elitch Gardens Amusement Park.
Wolff Lyon's responsibilities included design
and construction documents for the single family and townhouse
units as well as participation in the site planning and approval
process. In this regard we assisted in articulating and evaluating
the effectiveness of the design concepts and standards.
This challenging project plans to revive the
historic theater and carousel buildings, create a mix of uses
and building
types, initiate a local farmer's market, and provide a wide range
of housing opportunities including single family detached,
townhouses,
rental apartments, senior, live-work, and co-housing units. In
addition to the commercial and civic uses on the site, there
will
be more than 350 dwelling units.
