Description:
The Residential Communities Initiative at Fort
Bliss, Texas consists of 2,752 units of family housing in fourteen
neighborhoods on and off-base. Roughly two-thirds of the units
are in need of major renovations or replacement. We have created
over twenty plans to meet the program requirements for all the
ranks in styles that are consistent with southwestern architectural
precedents. The floor plans have amenities that respond to the
way people live today. Tree-lined streets with detached walks
produce a comfortable, safe environment for pedestrians and children.
Garages are conveniently placed but discreetly tucked away so
that they do not dominate the streetscape. Generous front porches
close to the sidewalk create opportunities for casual encounters
and neighborly interaction, as well as provide shelter from the
strong El Paso sun.
